Touring Shows
Macbeth
‘Tempted by the supernatural weird sisters to break their bonds of trust and murder their King, the Macbeths unleash the forces of nature’s revenge. This production focuses on the play’s theme of killing an anointed king, that is the greatest crime
About Macbeth
We have cut the play with the sharpest of knives to make it a lean one hour nightmare machine. In our production Macduff invites you to hear his haunting tale of the murderous Macbeth’s and how they tore his and Scotland’s life apart.
Set in the original story time of 1040, these dark age warriors recreate their broadsword battles, witches dances and bloody horror. With Macduff narrating, it allows the beautiful poetry to fly as the audience can understand the plot more easily. Our Shakespeare in a Suitcase production has witches, warriors and ghosts supported by our audience of rapping ‘wraith-ravens’ where they join in as the chorus with ‘Hubble Bubble’ rap.’

A recent review from our Macbeth
“Many thanks for a wonderful show on Friday. The pupils have given positive feedback and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Incidentally, our drama HOD said that he had recently been to see The National Theatre touring versions for schools (Macbeth) and felt that the National Theatre tried to be too ‘down with the kids with gimmicky stuff’ and felt that your performance was way better in terms of the acting and was truer to text.”

“Just wanted to send a quick message to thank Splats for the performance of ‘Macbeth’ this morning at Great Baddow High School. I thought this was a good quality performance and really helpful for the students. We would be interested in another performance of this play, in July this year, for our current year 10s.
Many thanks.”Rachel, KS4 Coordinator English of Great Baddow High School
A Midsummer Night’s Dream
A great introduction to the inventiveness of Shakespeare. Watch your pupils create the Midsummer Night’s madness of Oberon, Titania, Puck and the fairies causing chaos with their magical mischief on the humans. What fools these mortals be.
How Midsummer Night’s Dream works
One hour long shows with a cast of three (needs to be seen to be believed) followed by workshops for a half a day OR your students can create their own version with our company or visiting director to perform at the end of the day to family and friends.
Mixing modern language and original text it makes the story fun and crystal clear. The best way to experience the Bard which, lets face it, was designed to be enjoyed as a live show.

St Mary’s C of E Primary SchoolHello Mike,
I just wanted to say that the show yesterday delivered by your team was fantastic. The boys thoroughly enjoyed it and were all talking about it to their form tutors in the afternoon about how much fun it was and how much they learned from the experience. Huge credit to Naomi, Floki and Gary for their highly energetic and enthusiastic performance. We will certainly look at repeating the experience for future year groups.

Romeo and Juliet
“Join Juliet’s Nurse as she retells and sings her statement for our inquiry into the events of those hot July nights. Find out what created the impulsive and explosive atmosphere that lead to so many deaths. So far away it feels like the news today. We recreate the fights, loves and struggles of these lost youths. Set in 1301 Verona we keep the great verse and flow of the story with the nurse’s narration and slight linguistic modernisations.”
Suitable for ALL students and a refreshing perspective for lovers of the play.
