Our Shakespeare workshops are designed to maximize the involvement of the pupils and bring Shakespeare to life on stage. In just one day the pupils can learn and perform their very own production of A Midsummer Nights Dream ,The Tempest, Macbeth and Hamlet or take our Shakespeare Rap workshop or learn some stage combat and use it to perform Romeo and Juliet.

“In this we explore the text in a different way, through stage fight to bring the immediate visceral energy of watching the play to life. We will create the fight scenes with your pupils and explore the action and romance of this most pulsating of plays.“
The Tempest
"Join Prospero as the storm created by his sprites brings his usurper brother and cronies to this mystical island. Watch as Prospero magically twists and turns all the characters dream like to bring them safely to a happy brave new world.“
How Our Play in a day works
Assembly
Our A Midsummer Nights Dream day begins with an assembly to introduce the pupils and teachers to the play and the characters they will be playing.
Classes
One class works with the splats teacher at a time to learn their scene. The play is divided into 4 scenes so 4 classes can take part or 2 classes can learn 2 scenes each.
Props and sets
The other groups make props and set for the show and then come and work on their scene. We supply a full teaching pack to help guide this.
Show
At the end of the day all the classes come together to perform the show. The splats teacher acts as narrator which helps to guide the play along.
Audience
The pupils can act as their own audience as three of the scenes will be new to them but also please invite parents and other classes to watch as it is a great community event.

Macbeth Theathre Show

This production focuses on the play’s theme of killing an anointed king, that is the greatest crime. A very popular view with Shakespeare’s patron King James 1st."

Shakespeare Lost Panto – Cinderella
“Classic panto but with Shakespeare’s greatest characters. Join Cinderella (Juliet) and her friend Buttons (Bottom) in their struggle against her hapless dad (King Lear),evil step sisters and Baron Hardup (Macbeth). Will she meet her true love (Guess who)? Join Splats in this fun filled world of Shakespeare’s Lost Panto.“
